1. Purpose and Scope
Ingenious Partners Ltd is committed to ensuring fair, legal and ethical employment practices within our own organisation and throughout our supply chain. This policy supports our commitment to the Welsh Government’s Code of Practice on Ethical Employment in Supply Chains, and sets out the standards we apply to our own employment practices and expect of the suppliers and agencies we work with.
This policy applies to all employees, contractors and workers engaged by Ingenious Partners Ltd, and informs how we select and manage suppliers, subcontractors and recruitment agencies.
2. Our Commitments
Ingenious Partners Ltd commits to the following, in our own organisation and, where applicable, in our supply chain:
- Employment is freely chosen. We do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour of any kind.
- We respect the right of workers to join a trade union and to collective bargaining, and do not operate blacklisting in any form.
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic, in line with our Information Security Policy and general health and safety obligations.
- Child labour is not used under any circumstances.
- We provide regular employment wherever possible. Where the needs of the business require the use of a recruitment or employment agency, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the agency’s practices are compliant with this policy.
- We do not make unfair use of false self-employment, umbrella schemes, or zero hours contracts to avoid employment rights or obligations.
- We aim to pay at least the real Living Wage, calculated from the cost of living, to our own staff.
- We take a value for money approach to procurement, and consider whether terms offered by a supplier are only possible because of unethical employment or business practices before accepting them.
3. Ethical Employment Champion
Tracy Clarke, Director, is Ingenious Partners Ltd’s designated Ethical Employment Champion, with overall responsibility for this policy, for raising awareness of it with staff and suppliers, and for ensuring the commitments in this policy are followed in practice.
4. Recruitment and Supply Chain
Ingenious Partners Ltd expects suppliers, subcontractors and recruitment agencies it works with to adopt fair and ethical employment practices consistent with this policy, and encourages them to sign up to the Welsh Government’s Code of Practice on Ethical Employment in Supply Chains directly where relevant. Ethical employment practice is considered when selecting and reviewing suppliers, alongside price and quality.
Where a modern slavery or human rights risk is identified in relation to a supplier, this is addressed in line with the actions set out in our Modern Slavery Policy.
5. Training and Awareness
Relevant staff are made aware of this policy and of the standards it sets out. Where appropriate, staff involved in procurement or supplier management complete relevant awareness training, such as the Welsh Government’s e-learning module on the Code of Practice.
6. Reporting Concerns
Any employee, worker, or supplier who has a concern about employment practices, whether within Ingenious Partners Ltd or in our supply chain, should raise it with the Ethical Employment Champion. Concerns will be investigated and, where necessary, remedial action taken.
7. Review
This policy is reviewed at least annually by the Director, or sooner where there is a significant change to the business, its supply chain, or relevant legislation and guidance.
