1. About This Carbon Reduction Plan
Ingenious Partners Ltd (“Ingenious Partners”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our business and operating in a way that supports the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy, including the UK Government’s legally binding target of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This carbon reduction plan sets out our approach to identifying, managing and reducing carbon emissions across our business and supply chain. We are not currently required by law to publish a carbon reduction plan, but we choose to do so because our public sector customers expect it, and because it holds us to account for the commitments we make.
2. Our Commitment
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint year on year, and to embedding environmental responsibility into our procurement decisions and the advice we give to clients. This is a top level management commitment, owned and approved by our Director, who sets the objectives and targets in this policy and reviews progress against them. We recognise that our greatest opportunity to reduce emissions lies not only in our own operations, but in the choices we make and influence across our supply chain.
3. Our Business and Where Our Emissions Arise
Ingenious Partners supplies workwear, personal protective equipment, uniforms and branded garments to public sector, defence and commercial customers across the UK, with embroidery and branding services and iOrder, our online ordering portal for managing customer uniform programmes. We also provide procurement consultancy services. We operate from our main office and warehouse in Stratford-upon-Avon, and our direct operational emissions are limited, arising mainly from office and warehouse energy use, business travel and outbound deliveries.
The more significant impacts sit within the supply chains for the goods we supply and the supply chains we help clients manage, particularly in areas such as manufacturing, raw materials, and international freight and logistics. We consider it part of our responsibility to reduce these impacts where we can and to help clients make lower-carbon choices in these areas wherever it is practical to do so.
4. Reducing Our Impact
We take a proportionate, practical approach to reducing emissions, which includes favouring lower-carbon transport methods, such as sea freight over air freight, wherever order lead times and client requirements allow; encouraging the use of suppliers who can evidence sustainable or recycled materials and responsible manufacturing practices; consolidating orders and shipments to reduce the number and frequency of freight movements, including single bulk deliveries to a customer site or campus in place of individual parcels; reducing returns and the extra journeys they create, through saved sizes, sizing sets and on-site fitting sessions; offering an end-of-life take-back and recycling service so that worn uniform does not go to landfill; keeping office and warehouse energy use low; and using digital communication and video conferencing in place of business travel wherever practical.
5. Our Emissions Baseline and Scopes
We report our emissions against the three scopes used in UK Government and international reporting. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from sources we own or control, such as fuel burned in a company vehicle. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the electricity and other energy we purchase for our premises. Scope 3 covers all other indirect emissions in our value chain, including the goods we purchase for resale, freight and logistics, business travel and waste; for a business of our size and activity, scope 3 is expected to be the largest of the three.
We are establishing an emissions baseline for the current financial year, using our utility bills, fuel and mileage records and the UK Government’s official greenhouse gas conversion factors for scope 1 and 2, and using supplier and freight data, activity data or recognised spend-based estimation methods for scope 3 where more detailed data is not yet available. We expect to complete this baseline by 30 April 2027, and we will publish a summary of it, and of the methodology used, on this page once it is complete. Until the baseline is confirmed, any figures in this policy are illustrative and subject to revision.
6. Our Targets
Once our baseline is confirmed, we will set a measurable, time-bound interim target for our scope 1 and scope 2 emissions, and a separate target or set of actions for scope 3, reviewed and approved by the Director. As an indicative direction of travel, and subject to confirmation against our baseline, we are working towards a reduction of at least 10% in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2028, principally through reduced office energy use and lower-carbon travel choices, and a reduction in scope 3 emissions from freight through the measures set out in Section 4.
We commit to working towards net zero emissions across scope 1 and 2 by 2050 at the latest, in line with the UK Government’s national target, and to working towards net zero across our scope 3 value chain over a longer timescale, as data, technology and our suppliers’ own progress allow. The Director reviews progress against these targets at least once every 12 months and updates them once the baseline in Section 5 is confirmed.

We review this policy periodically to reflect changes in our business, our supply chains, or relevant legal requirements. Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
