Sustainability

Sustainability strategy: building long-term value through responsible growth, with seedling and green building imagery.

Our approach to sustainability

At Ingenious Partners, we believe the right workwear and PPE should protect people without costing the planet more than it needs to. As a growing business, we have the chance to build sustainable practice in from the start, rather than adding it on later. We work with our clients, suppliers and delivery partners to reduce waste, lower emissions and deliver real social value in the communities we serve.

Our commitments

We set clear environmental goals each year and review our progress against them. Our Carbon Reduction Plan sets out how we measure our emissions and the steps we are taking to reduce them, in line with the UK’s commitment to reach net zero by 2050.

Every member of our team is introduced to these goals when they join us, so sustainability is part of how we work every day.

Buying better

The most sustainable garment is one that lasts. We help clients choose durable, good quality workwear that is fit for the job, and we set replacement periods based on real wear rather than habit, so kit is replaced when it needs to be, not before.

Wherever possible, we source from manufacturers who publish their own environmental and ethical commitments, and we offer recycled and lower-impact alternatives, such as garments made from recycled polyester and organic cotton, when they meet the required specification.

Recycling and responsible disposal

At the end of a garment’s working life, we help clients deal with it responsibly. Our workwear recycling service keeps textiles out of landfill by directing them to the most appropriate recycling or recovery route, and our secure disposal service makes sure branded uniforms cannot be misused.

Reducing emissions from delivery

  • Fewer, fuller deliveriesThrough iOrder, orders are consolidated and delivered straight to the right site or person, cutting journeys.
  • Fewer returnsReplacement reminders and saved sizes mean fewer wrong sizes, fewer returns and fewer extra journeys.
  • Greener partnersWe use carriers committed to cutting emissions, and minimise and reuse packaging wherever we can.

Social value

Social value matters to us as much as environmental impact. We are committed to:

  • Buying localSupporting local and UK-based suppliers and small businesses wherever possible.
  • Fair treatmentTreating everyone in our supply chain fairly, in line with our Modern Slavery Policy.
  • CommunitySupporting community projects, schools and local charities in the areas where our clients operate.
  • Skills and opportunityCreating training, work experience and apprenticeship opportunities as we grow.

We are happy to report on social value as part of any contract, including against the measures that councils and public bodies use.

Working with others

We are Bronze members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, a free, industry-backed programme that helps businesses measure and improve their environmental and social impact.

Our Bronze membership means we have completed the School’s self-assessments and put an action plan in place to keep improving, and our next goal is Silver.

We encourage our suppliers and clients to take part too, because real progress comes from working together.
